Surrounded is a worship anthem written by Elyssa Smith and perform by Micheal W Smith. “Surrounded” represents the victory that we have over our battles before we know the earthly outcome by trusting that God is going before us and He wins. Therefore, we can face our daily battles with more courage and strength because we know that whatever the outcome based on His promise that above all we can TRUST God. The conclusion is in the touching lyrics in this song of Surrounded:
“For the spirit of heaviness Put on the garment of praise”
That’s how we fight our battles. Just when you think you’re lost; it may look like I’m surrounded but I’m surrounded by You.
This is how I fight my battles
Most importantly in times of struggle when we feel a heaviness, no way out, surrounded by nothing good or positive we fight with praise. We fight on our knees. In other words we pray, rejoice and trust!
When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. “Oh no, my lord! What shall we do?” the servant asked. “Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, LORD, so that he may see.” Then the LORD opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.
